Nikolaos
PortraitNikolaos Théberge-Dritsas is the co-founder of FUNCTION and the Legendary Canadian Father of the House of Unbothered Cartier. A creative thinker and world-builder, he brings a multidisciplinary approach to storytelling and production.
Since throwing his first ball just one year into his Ballroom journey, Nikolaos has remained dedicated to showcasing Canadian Ballroom in its best light—uplifting the artistry, history, and community at its core. His work bridges creative minds and communities across countries and borders, while advancing sexual health and education through workshops, awareness campaigns, and community-driven events.
Ballroom gave Nikolaos the language for who he is, the freedom to explore his fullest self, and a true home built on friendships deep enough to call family. Through it, he’s found a deep sense of belonging and purpose—to highlight stories too often left untold.
Sexual health, HIV education, and collective care have always lived at the heart of Ballroom—and by extension, at the heart of FUNCTION. As newer generations step into the scene, we carry a responsibility to ensure they’re met with more guidance, knowledge, and support than many of us ever had.
Bringing these stories to life alongside such talented artists, partners, and community members is a privilege—and a reminder that building kinder, more dignified futures for queer and trans people truly takes a village.
Ballroom taught me that our stories aren’t just meant to be told—they’re meant to be carried forward.
