An all-around Femme Queen and a true Canadian gem, Mackenzie West shines across an array of categories—from Face to Sex Siren—leaving her mark both at home and abroad. After immigrating to Canada on her own, she’s spent the last decade forging her own path. Now, she channels her platform and experience to educate folks on trans issues, share her passion for Ballroom, and inspire women like herself to strive for greatness.

For Mackenzie, Ballroom is freedom. It’s the only space where people like her are celebrated for who they truly are, without being forced to conform. As a trans woman of colour, it’s where she can unapologetically embrace and express her femininity and sexuality.

HIV awareness and queer-led sexual education are vital for a community that has endured decades of stigma and survived a devastating epidemic. Educating, protecting, and challenging the biases that continue to harm queer and trans people is a shared responsibility we cannot ignore.

Ballroom is uniquely positioned to lead this work—it’s where the most intersectional and marginalized communities come together to celebrate, support, and uplift one another—and that’s powerful.

Ballroom is the only place where I don’t have to hold back. It’s where I’ve found the freedom to truly be myself—and to help others find the same.
